On May 16, 2024, the serene city of Englewood, NJ, came together to honor its veterans with a heartfelt Pre Memorial Day Luncheon, hosted by Keyez Comfort Home. This memorable event, held at the beautiful Keyez Comfort Home headquarters lawn, celebrated the sacrifices and contributions of our senior veterans, fostering a spirit of gratitude and community.

A Day to Remember

The luncheon kicked off with an air of reverence and patriotism, led by the Mistress of Ceremonies, Hope Raquel Summers. Her poise and grace set the perfect tone for the event, ensuring a seamless and engaging experience for all attendees.

The National Anthem, performed by the talented Christine Nevill from Dwight Morrow High School. Her voice resonated through the room, instilling a deep sense of pride and unity.

  • Dr. Rev. John Givens, with his 27 years of service in the United States Army, offered an inspiring account of dedication and resilience, reminding everyone of the true meaning of sacrifice.
  • The Honorable Kevin Wilson, 4th Ward Councilman of the City of Englewood, and The Honorable Charles Cobb, Council President and Councilman At Large, each expressed their unwavering support for veteran initiatives and community integration.

The highlight of the luncheon was the keynote address delivered by The Honorable Mayor Michael Wildes of Englewood City, New Jersey. Mayor Wildes captivated the audience with his profound gratitude for the veterans' service and his vision for a community that honors and supports its heroes.
